Boil water advisory lifted

From staff reports

LOCK HAVEN — A boil water advisory that has been in effect since Tuesday has been lifted, according to the Lock Haven City Water Office.

Residents from 300-401 Mackey Avenue, 2-113 Grape Street, and 408-414 Jarrett Street in Castanea were notified on Tuesday of a problem with their drinking water and were advised to boil water before using it due to a loss of positive pressure that could result in contamination caused by a main break.

The city’s water office reports the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil water before using.

“The water line has been repaired and positive pressure restored,” water office manager Wendi Spicher said. “It has been tested three times over a three-day period and is free of contamination.”
