LH JAMS kicks off with reception

LOCK HAVEN — The LH JAMS festival kicked off last night with a music and fun filled evening at the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center.

There was good food and good times to be had by everyone who attended as well as a performance by Harrisburg based dance group Lindy Central.

Those who did not attend the reception will still have plenty of chances to enjoy music. Free performances will begin at 11 a.m. today on Main Street. A section of the street will be shut down between Vesper and Grove streets from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. with performances continuing in various local businesses until 10 p.m.

There will be food, crafts and lots of music for the public to enjoy.

Lock Haven City Councilman Joel Long and fiancee Mitzi Gallagher wore swing era clothing for last night’s event.

Free parking will be available in the city’s lots.

This year’s line-up is:

– Last Resort performing from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Main Street Stage.

– PA Jazz Collective Quintet performing from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Elks Stage.

– The Big Little Band performing with dance group Lindy Central from 1 to 1:30 p.m. on Main Street.

Downtown Lock Haven Inc. President Jeff Miller and manager Kasey Blesh dressed for the occasion.

– The Eddie Severn Quartet performing from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Elks Stage.

– Urie Kline, a West African drummer, performing from 2:30 to 3 p.m.

– Spencer and Nancy Reed performing from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Main Street Stage.

– The Last Resort performing from 4 to 4:30 p.m. at the Main Street Stage.

– Zeropoint Big Band performing from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Elks Stage.

– The Chicago Authority performing from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the floating stage at the Corman Amphitheater.

– The Jay Vonada Duo performing from 6 to 8 p.m. at Avenue 209 Coffee House.

– Teen Town performing from 6 to 8 p.m. at Odd Fellas.

– Nancy Reed and Steve Rudolph Duo performing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Stella A’s Bar and Grill.

– Graham Dion and Friends performing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at The Broken Axe Brew House.

– Rick Hirsch 3 performing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. in the Lock Haven Elks downstairs club room.
