Christine Millinder seeks second term as register, clerk
BELLEFONTE — Centre County Register of Wills & Clerk of Orphans’ Court Christine Millinder, of Pleasant Gap announced she is seeking the Republican nomination for reelection to that office.
Prior to being elected in 2016, Millinder served in the office for 28 years as a clerk, deputy and acting register of wills.
As register of wills, Christine is responsible for probating wills and granting letters of administration in cases where people die without leaving a will. She also has jurisdiction over and maintains records of wills, inventory of estates and other miscellaneous documents. Christine also acts as agent for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the collection of inheritance tax.
In addition, Christine serves as clerk of the orphans’ court and is responsible for performing the administrative record keeping duties for the court. As clerk of orphans’ court, she issues marriage licenses and keeps required marriage records. She processes and maintains all guardianship papers/reports for minors and incapacitated persons.
Millinder is an active member of the Register of Wills & Clerks of Orphans’ Court Association. She was elected her first term to serve on the executive board for the association and is the chair of the training committee for all newly elected registers and clerks across the commonwealth. Millinder also serves on the nominating committee for the association.
Christine is a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte, where she serves on the staff parish relations committee and participates in other church activities. Christine is also an associate member of the Bald Eagle F.O.P. Lodge #51. Millinder has been honored to serve in this office and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue to do so.
