Clinton County Fair queen dazzles prince and princesses

LOCK HAVEN — Do you wonder what being the Clinton County Fair Queen is all about? McCartney Register, our reigning Fair Queen may have “just” been serving tea and lemonade and mingling, but if you attended a Royal Tea with the Queen last Saturday, you know what being a queen is really about — influencing the next generation to be all they can be. “This is the most fun event I’ve done as Fair Queen so far!” she excitedly related, with her signature brilliant smile. With 30 princesses and one prince dressed in their royal best gathered near as McCartney read princess stories encouraging each and every one to let their sparkle out, she herself sparkled as a role model. One mom remarked, “Thank you so much for doing this.” Getting out of the house was a big motivator for many, but the idea of meeting the Queen and spending time with her was tantalizing to each of the little princesses and prince. In addition to a story time with McCartney, attendees, aged 4 to 11, painted unique keepsake crown canvases and crafted sparkling crowns. Each young person enjoyed an appointment in the Glitter Salon, getting glitter in their hair and shimmer on their cheeks. Let’s not forget those royal-esque snacks and tea and lemonade in perfectly grown up glass tea cups! Before the afternoon was over, each attendee grabbed a prop and took a minute in the photo booth with McCartney. Everyone went home with a splendid treat bag and memories for a lifetime. Many thanks went to Sandy Bell, an enthusiastic supporter of area youth and beneficial children’s programs in Clinton County. Her generosity made a Royal Tea with the Queen accessible to many.
