LOCK HAVEN – Joe Fiochetta has been named vice president of university advancement at Lock Haven University as of March 11. In this role, he will oversee the operations of the newly formed University Advancement Division, which includes communications, marketing, development, sports information, alumni and community relations.

“I look forward to working with President Pignatello and Haven Nation to advance the university’s mission in positive and enduring ways,” Fiochetta said. “It’s an exciting time to be a Bald Eagle and I’m thrilled to join the passionate and committed Lock Haven family of alumni, students, faculty, staff, volunteers and community members.”

Fiochetta brings with him more than 25 years of service to the nonprofit and higher education community as an executive, consultant and volunteer. Throughout his career, he has been involved in nearly every aspect of marketing, communications, alumni relations and fundraising. He comes to LHU as principal of his own firm and previously has held executive positions at leading agencies and nonprofits including Schultz & Williams, CDR Fundraising Group, Harte-Hanks, American Red Cross and Penn State University. He is a Certified Direct Marketer (CDM) through Virginia Commonwealth University and received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Hartford.

“I’m very excited that Joe has joined our executive team,” said Robert Pignatello, LHU president. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help us engage our alumni, donors, faculty, coaches, staff and students to advance our mission, move LHU forward and soar higher. In particular, his marketing expertise will provide leadership to raise our profile, be more competitive, increase our ability to promote our programs and attract prospective students.”

LHU is a member of Pennsylvania’s State System, the largest provider of higher education in the Commonwealth. Its 14 universities offer more than 2,300 degree and certificate programs in more than 530 academic areas of study. Nearly 520,000 system alumni live and work in Pennsylvania.
