Boil water advisory issued for portion of city

LOCK HAVEN — Lock Haven Water Department has issued a boil water advisory for some residents of the city.

On Thursday, April 18, there was a loss of positive water pressure due to a main break, and residents of South Jones Street from Bellefonte Avenue to Maple Street may be at increased risk for microbial contamination, officials reported.

Residents of that area should not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. You should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.

The water department will inform residents when all corrective actions have been completed and when residents no longer need to boil their water. For more information, please contact the Lock Haven Water Department at 570-893-5909.
