Haven Performing Arts ready for the Relay For Life

LOCK HAVEN –Members of Haven Performing Arts are in high spirits right now as they just came home from Wildwood, N.J. with some gold and silver medals.

That energy and pride will carry them into their next event — the Relay for Life — and the group will be coming together again to support “Dicks Dimes 4 Hope.”

This is the organization’s relay team lead by Kayla Forshey, in loving memory of her father Richard (Dick) Forshey who started the organization back in 2014.

Dick was an amazing man who fought for 18 months against small cell lung cancer. Sadly he lost that battle on April 1, 2017, Kayla said.

Dick was someone who would do anything for anyone at anytime therefore we felt he would want us to help fight against this awful “thing” called cancer, Kayla said. Our family and friends will work together to raise funds to help support cancer patient programs and research that can help save lives, she said, inviting everyone to come out and support Please come and support Relay For life on Saturday, May 18.

Haven Performing Arts will be performing that day starting at 1 p.m. This organization is an independent group which consist of majorettes, dance, and colorguard, ranging in age from 5 to 13 on the cadet teams, 13 to 21 on the regional teams, and 22 and up for the senior teams.

We will have food available, a kids booth, and a LulaRoe booth. Proceeds will go to “Dick’s Dimes 4 Hope” relay team and in turn be donated to the American Cancer Society.
