Relay for Life is Saturday at Riverview Park
LOCK HAVEN — The annual Clinton County Relay for Life, which raises money for cancer research and to help those suffering from the dreaded disease, will be held Saturday at Riverview Park.
And everyone is invited to come out and remember those lost to cancer and honor the survivors.
The event begins at 10 a.m. with opening ceremonies, followed by team laps at 10:15 a.m. and the Survivor Brunch at 10:30 a.m.
Something for the kids — Touch a Truck — will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids will enjoy looking at big trucks and get their pictures taken with them.
Also on the schedule at 11 a.m. is TaiChi and giant beach ball soccer.
The Survivor Ceremony and lap will be held at noon, and a group photo will be taken at 12:30 p.m.
Haven Performing Arts Ensemble, a group of majorettes, dance and colorguard, will provide special performances during the relay starting at 1 p.m. The girls will be coming together at the relay to support “Dick’s Dimes 4 Hope,” a relay team lead by Kayla Forshey in memory of her father, Dick Forshey, who died from cancer in April, 2017.
Afternoon activities include wiffleball at 1 p.m., a cornhole tournament at 2 p.m., bubbles at 3 p.m., exercise time, kickball and a dog lap at 4 p.m., volleyball tournament at 5 p.m. and karaoke at 7 p.m.
