Have you registered for the Scenic Road Race yet?

It’s another week closer.

But there’s still plenty of time to register for the first ever Scenic Road Race in the area or volunteer to help with the 5th Annual Rally for Recovery on Aug. 17.

Advocates for a Drug Free Tomorrow and West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission will be celebrating those in recovery and promotion prevention and wellness at this event.

And everyone’s invited to come out and support the recovery community and those who provide prevention, treatment and recovery support services.

Participating in the first-ever Scenic Road Race 5K run/walk is one way you can help.

The rally committee is hoping to see a big turnout for the rally, not only walkers and runners, but also supporters standing along the 3.2-mile route with signs and flags encouraging participants as they make their way from the Piper building through the city to Castanea Township and then along the creek road to the Castanea picnic grounds.

At the picnic grounds there will be vendors, with an emphasis on resources for good health, fitness, nutrition, chiropractic care, massage therapy, art therapy, substance use disorder treatment providers, medical assisted treatment providers, family support and recovery.

There will also be free food, drink, music and games.

So, circle the date of Aug. 17 on your calendar and plan to attend the Rally for Recovery.

Sign up to participate in the Scenic Road Race, as a runner or casual walker. Online registration is available with Falcon Race Timing at https://falconracetiming.com/event/rally-for-recovery-5k-lock-haven-pa/

Registration is $15 plus a $3 fee to the racing company. Those who pre-register by Aug. 2 will receive t-shirts.
