LANA MUTHLER/THE EXPRESS

As usual, the truck and tractor pulls and fireworks on Friday night brought hundreds of people to the small community of Antes Fort. It was the Fort Antes Days 28th Annual Celebration, and three days of family fun, including Shadows of The Old West, which has been a hit for several years. The group of individuals engaged in the portrayal of the period of Westward movement during the mid to late 1800’s captured the attention of youngsters at each show. And there were also barrel train rides, greased pig and mutton bustin contests, an applebutter boil, car show and chainsaw carver along with arts and crafts vendors and all kinds of food, from homemade ice cream and sticky buns to barbecued chicken, pizza, funnel cakes and more.
