Express to hold forums for mayor, commissioner
LOCK HAVEN – The Express community newspaper will host two political forums in late October featuring candidates for mayor of the City of Lock Haven and for Clinton County Commissioner.
The forums are open to the public.
All of the candidates have agreed to participate.

The first forum involves the mayoral candidates and will start at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, at the Elks Lodge 182 at 216 E. Main St. in downtown Lock Haven.
The second forum involves the commissioner candidates and will start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, also at the Elks.
Both forums will be held in the second floor ballroom.
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. each night.
Handicap access is available at the rear of the Lodge building via an elevator to the second floor.
A moderator will start the forums with introductions, afterwhich the candidates will be given time to offer their own introduction and opening remarks.
Questions will be asked by Express newspaper staff and the moderator, plus audience questions will be accepted for presentation by the moderator near the end of the forums and prior to closing remarks.
Topics will center around – but not be limited — leadership and vision, quality of life, city and county government operations and responsibilities, budgeting and taxes, economic and community development, and related issues per the city and county.
“Your daily community newspaper is honored to host and organize these political forums on behalf of our readers and advertisers,” said Bob Rolley, Express publisher.
“We applaud all who step forward to serve the public and are grateful to provide a forum so candidates for office can tell voters about their ideas, their values and their beliefs,”
“We intend to foster a productive, respectful atmosphere and to make effective use of time.”
