The Clinton County Veterans Affairs office and Lock Haven University honored and remembered veterans and active members of our United States Armed Forces recently. Veterans Affairs Director Jennifer Hagaman (USAF), served as master of ceremonies at the gathering, held at LHU’s Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center. Guest speaker was LHU Director of Library Services Joby Topper, who talked about military services as a family tradition. He noted that 80 percent of our veterans have a direct family member who also served. Recently retired Veterans Affairs Director Bill Bechdel and VETS+ member Tammy McCloskey received recognition for their involvement and dedication. Susan Muthler from the VETS+ organization presented both of them with a flag that had been flown and carried during the annual 9/11 Moving Tribute held each September locally.
