LOGANTON — Dozens of firefighters from fire companies throughout the area responded to a smoky fire Friday afternoon at R & S Miller Trucking LLC, 422 E. Valley Road, Loganton.

The fire erupted at about 3:30 p.m., reportedly in a pile of pallets on the property.

Flames quickly spread to two tractor trailer trucks parked nearby.

As smoke filled the air, firefighters concentrated their efforts on keeping the flames from spreading to the nearby office building.

At about 5 p.m., as fire volunteers continued to play water on the smoldering trucks, it appeared the building had been saved.

There were no injuries reported at that time.

Fire companies responding included Sugar Valley, Nittany Valley, Mill Hall, Nippenose Township out of Lycoming County and Miles Township from Centre County. Beech Creek-Blanchard Fire Co. was put on stand-by for Sugar Valley.
