City asks residents to fill out survey on Comprehensive Plan

LOCK HAVEN — A Comprehensive Plan survey has been created to give city residents an opportunity to provide input even during Gov. Tom Wolf’s stay-at-home order.

City Planner Abbey Roberts spoke about the online survey during Wednesday’s special council meeting.

“We are placing a high priority on the planning process and on the public outreach and collaboration. When public meetings were no longer an option, this survey was created to obtain input from residents, community organizations, groups and service providers,” Roberts said.

The 14-question survey covers topics like problems, assets and housing priorities, and gives residents the chance to suggest a name for the plan.

Roberts is working with planning companies The EADS Group and subcontractor Landscape Architect to develop a 10-year Comprehensive Plan that focuses on projects that will help foster growth in the community.

The plan will be completed and presented to council in December for its adoption. Roberts and the city contractors plan to engage with the public throughout the planning process.

“Responses (from the survey) will be used to identify community wants and needs that will be reflected in the final plan. We urge everyone to respond to the survey, even if they have been to a previous public meeting,” she said.
