Four new cases of COVID-19 in Clinton County

LOCK HAVEN — Clinton County added four more cases of COVID-19 as of midnight Monday.

There are now 25 cases in the county, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Centre County’s total number of COVID-19 cases climbed to 87 with six new cases.

Statewide, there were 885 new cases — a significant drop from the numbers that remained steadily over 1,000 — making the statewide total 42,050.

The department also reported a total of 1,597 confirmed COVID-19 deaths, an increase of 47.

All deaths have been among adults, with most age 65 or older. No deaths have been reported in Clinton County. Centre County has one confirmed death of a COVID-19 patient, an 89-year-old man who died at Mount Nittany Medical Center on April 16.

In nearby counties, Lycoming has 57 cases, Union has 31, Mifflin has 30, Perry has 26, Huntingdon has 24, Blair has 21, Clearfield has 11, Potter has four and Cameron has one.

In the state, Philadelphia County continues to be the worst “hot spot” with 11,361 active cases of COVID-19.

A total of 161,372 patients in Pennsylvania have tested negative for COVID-19, including 193 in Clinton County.

Nursing and personal care homes have had 7,037 resident cases and 862 employee cases across 441 facilities in 40 counties, with 990 resident deaths. Clinton County currently has no confirmed cases in nursing or personal care homes, according to the health department. Several previously listed deaths have since been removed as the health department continues to investigate probable cases and adjust data.
