Limestone Twp. man charged with assaulting girlfriend

JERSEY SHORE — A 34-year-old man was arrested on assault-related charges after threatening to kill his girlfriend during a disturbance at the couple’s Limestone Township home about 10:45 a.m. on April 9, state police alleged in court papers.

Christopher Ungard was taken into custody at the home at 430 Shadle Road shortly after troopers arrived on the scene and charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.

When troopers walked into the home, they saw the girlfriend, who was not identified, “on the kitchen floor emotionally distraught. Ungard was holding a rag to her head,” Trooper Patrick Kineston said.

The woman “lightly kicked Ungard with her foot to get him to stop yelling. Ungard grabbed her and held her down in a rocking chair and stated multiple times that he was going to kill her,” Kineston alleged.

Ungard then allegedly punched her in the forehead, causing a laceration that “required stitches” to close, the trooper added.

Following his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle, Ungard, who now carries an address of 91 Fink Lane, Linden, was released on $15,000 bail.
