Mill Hall church to hold Sunday services inside

Masks, social distancing, temperature checks required

MILL HALL — If you’ve been hankering to get back inside a church building for Sunday morning worship, we’ve got some good news for you.

Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church, 111 Main St., Mill Hall, will reopen its doors this Sunday, May 24, for its 10:30 a.m. service.

Pastor Susan Champion is excited about the reopening of the church building and reports all necessary precautions will be taken to protect everyone.

So, if you’re planning to attend services at Bald Eagle Presbyterian Church this Sunday, here’s what you need to know.

Everyone is asked to enter through the back door, which will already be open so those entering do not have to touch the door knog. Once inside, everyone’s temperature will be taken with a laser thermometer… nothing will touch your skin. If your temperature is below 100.4, you are welcome to join the service. Each person is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing when sitting down.

The collection plate will be placed in a convenient place for donations. The kitchen will be closed for now. There will be no treats or coffee available for the next few months. There will be no communion service at this time. This sacrament will be available in October.

The church will be cleaned before you enter, and we ask that you please clean your space when leave. For example, if you use the restrooms, we ask that you please wipe down what you touch… faucet, door knobs etc. Wipes will be available.

We will enjoy church music, which is a big part of our worship service. You may sing SOFTLY, or hum along with the hymn, or if you choose, just sit quietly and listen while Connie plays, but your mask must stay on.

The adult Sunday School class will not be meeting until we are in phase 3 (green).

“We know these are strange circumstances, but these are strange times. We are going through something we never dreamed would happen to us. We are thrilled we can once again gather, but until more restrictions are lifted we will have to endure a few uncomfortable circumstances to ensure everyone’s safety.

“I look forward to seeing everyone on May 24 for our worship service,” Pastor Champion said.
