Summer concert series postponed
Best of Clinton County canceled
LOCK HAVEN – The 2020 Lock Haven City Summer Concert series will not take place as soon as originally planned.
City staff and the concert series committee announced this summer’s series of concerts at Triangle Park and the Corman Amphitheater will start at a later date this year.
“(We) have been working diligently to develop a plan that will allow the summer concert series to continue this summer, while following the guidelines of the PA Department of Health,” a press release from the city states.
There isn’t a set date for when the series, meant to kick off on June 5, will start. It will all be dependent on when Clinton County is moved to the “green phase” of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan.
So far 18 counties, including Centre, will move to the green phase beginning May 29 with Wolf expected to announce more this Friday.
“We look forward to providing the best possible experience for our residents this summer, while offering a safe atmosphere to enjoy talented musicians and support local businesses,” Kasey Campbell, director of community life for the city, said.
The concert series wasn’t the only big announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
Downtown Lock Haven Inc. also announced the cancellation of its Best of Clinton County festival, which was scheduled for June 27.
“We are sad to announce that our 2020 Best of Clinton County Festival is canceled for this year,” Samantha Eisenhart, DLH manager, said.
The festival has drawn crowds of residents to downtown each year to browse a variety of vendors, take part in activities and view the annual parade.
