City reminds residents to practice social distancing

LAURA JAMESON / THE EXPRESS Signs like these have been placed downtown to remind residents and visitors to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

LOCK HAVEN — “Attention… Social distancing also applies outdoors… Please adhere to social distancing guidelines and stay at least 6 (feet) away… Thank You.”

That’s the message on big red signs placed along Main Street in downtown Lock Haven and near the amphitheatre on Water Street. City crews erected the signs early Friday in an effort to remind residentsto continue following social distancing guidelines.

Signs are also located near the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheater where Summer Concert Series performances are held on Sundays. Eleven signs are being utilized at both locations, according to Director of Community Life Kasey Campbell.

“They’ll be used during the Pedestrian Mall and summer concert series,” she said.

Smaller directional signs can also be seen on light poles throughout the downtown to offer residents and visitors directions to local restaurants and stores in the area.

“Those are temporary… we plan on adding some more and are taking suggestions from the public,” she said.

Campbell noted that they are trying to list businesses within a 10-minute walk from the downtown on the signs.
