DCNR gets OK to install charger for electric vehicles
JERSEY SHORE — An electric vehicle charger is coming to Jersey Shore.
Borough Council this week approved a conditional use for the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to install a charger for electric vehicles Pine Creek Rail Trail parking lot on Railroad Street.
“It will be able to charge two electric cars at a time,” Borough Manager Joseph Hamm said.
The charger will be open for public use for free, Hamm said.
This Railroad Street parking lot is owned by DCNR.
Also at its regular meeting Monday night, council unanimously “accepted with regret” the resignation of Councilman Matthew Haag.
Trick-or-treat was also approved for Saturday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. much like neighboring municipalities.
Council also unanimously agreed on behalf of their cooperative agreement with the county to accept Community Block Development Grant money for their 2019 CDBG funds.
In general news, council unanimously approved the $52,434.68 2021 MMO for the uniform pension plan.
The next council meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at the borough building.
