Free turkey dinners on Thanksgiving Day

For those who live alone or don’t cook, there are three local groups who would love to provide you with a turkey dinner and all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day.

There will be some restrictions due to the COVID-19, but there will be plenty of turkey, corn, potatoes, pie, cranberry sauce and more for everyone who desires the Thanksgiving Day feast.

These Thanksgiving Dinners are all free and will be pick-up or delivery only this year.

— At Great Island Presbyterian Church on Water Street in Lock Haven, dinners will be ready for pick-up after 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Those picking up dinners are asked to wear masks. To order meals or have them delivered, call 570-748-2810.

— Beech Creek Wesleyan Church will be have its annual Thanksgiving dinner, on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year all dinners will be take out or delivery only. Please contact the church for more information or to request meals at 570-962-2732.

— The Bellefonte Knights of Columbus will be hosting a free Thanksgiving dinner to the public on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at its hall, 315 Stoney Batter, Bellefonte (up the hill from the Dollar General). The menu will include roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, glazed ham, stuffing, gravy, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, rolls and pie. This is the only free Thanksgiving Dinner served on Thanksgiving in Bellefonte. Meals will only be available to-go this year due to the pandemic.
