No tax increase in Woodward Twp., Lycoming County

LINDEN –Taxes will remain the same in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, after the supervisors approved a preliminary spending plan for 2021 this week.

“It is basically the same budget as last year,” Judy Carpenter, secretary/treasurer, said. Real estate taxes remain at 0.514 mills and there are no major expenses, she said.

For property owners whose properties are assessed at $100,000, taxes will remain at $51.40 next year.

The full budget is on display at the township building and is expected to be adopted at next month’s meeting.

The supervisors also ratified the changes in the Comcast Franchise Agreement.

The agreement allows Comcast to pay their fees to the township within 30 days after the first, second and third quarter, and pay within 45 days of the fourth quarter of the year.

In other business, the supervisors approved PennDOT’s replacement of the bridge over Pine Run.

Carpenter said the bridge is “narrow” and “older”.

Additionally, they signed a resolution concerning Moore Road, which is a new township road that gives residents additional access to the township building if they have concerns.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m.
