The Good Neighbor Center on behalf of the Council of Churches in Renovo helped at least 150 households celebrate Thanksgiving Dinner as the crew of volunteers were in full force. They distributed all the makings of a holiday dinner, but oftentimes were loading vehicles and even making some deliveries to those who needed assistance. The group assists families in need every month but it’s their holiday help that truly expresses the meaning of the season as they pass out the makings of festive dinners. This year, those receiving turkeys were even given the option of choosing a frozen chicken if the turkey was bigger than their needs. Good Neighbor Center volunteers like Pee Wee Getz, left, and Tom Jesberger waited to help those picking up food in their section of the distribution line. John Tarantella, left, and Gary Mann wait to carry the turkeys to the recipients vehicles.
