Nixon indicted for possessing firearm, ammunition
WILLIAMSPORT — A Lock Haven man with a lengthy criminal record has been indicted on a federal charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a felon.
The indictment returned Thursday in U.S. Middle District Court accuses John Davis Nixon, 43, of East Main Street, Lock Haven, with possessing on March 30 a 12-gauge shotgun and more than 2,500 rounds of ammunition in various calibers.
The one-count indictment seeks forfeiture of the following:
–A semiautomatic JTS shotgun, 999 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, 375 rounds of 12- gauge ammunition, 1,031 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 69 rounds of 38-caliber ammunition and 30 rounds of 40-caliber ammunition.
–Also, 815 rounds of 22-caliber ammunition, 33 rounds of 20-gauge ammunition, 200 rounds of 6.5 Grendel ammunition, 32 AR-15 magazines and 12 9mm magazines.
–Also, 5 45mm magazines, 6 12-gauge magazines, 100 miscellaneous firearms parts, 8 firearm silencers, 10 powders and a 37 mm STZ-Havoc Flare/gas launcher.
Nixon’s most recent conviction in Clinton County was in January 2020 when he was sentenced to six months in jail followed by two years’ probation on a simple assault charge.
His intermediate punishment was revoked April 19 and he was remanded to the Clinton County Correctional Facility. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 21.
