Annual Farm-City Family Festival canceled

MACKEYVILLE — The annual Farm-City Family Festival, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18, has been canceled.

The announcement was made by Susie Peters, deputy district manager for the Clinton County Conservation District. The event was going to be held at the Clinton County Fairgrounds, but was canceled due to lack of participation.

“It was an extremely difficult decision, but we feel that this was the best decision for everyone,” Peters said in an email.

The annual event typically features children’s crafts and games, along with vendors, tractor pulls, hay rides and various contests.

Also canceled was the Farm-City 5K Color Fun Run/Walk, which was scheduled for the same day.

The Clinton County Master Gardeners plant sale and workshops are still planned for Saturday, as is the national horse show presented by the Colorado Ranger Horse Association.

The free event is sponsored by the Clinton County Conservation District, County Commissioners, Clinton County Fair Association and the Master Gardeners program.
