Schools announce graduation ceremonies
LOCK HAVEN — Finally, things are back to normal.
After two years of virtual graduations, socially-distanced ones, masked seniors and guests due to the COVID-19 pandemic, school districts in Clinton, Centre and Lycoming counties are gearing up for traditional in-person high school graduation ceremonies this year.
As usual, The Express is preparing to honor each and every graduate in its Salute to Seniors, a special publication, to be printed on Wednesday, June 15. This special section will feature color images of each graduate from all seven schools along with advertisements from local businesses offering congratulations to the Class of 2022.
Graduation ceremonies will begin this week. Walnut Street Christian School’s graduation is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 27 at the school, located along West Walnut Street in Avis.
Bucktail High School will honor its Class of 2022 at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 at Dwyer Memorial Field.
There are a pair of graduations on Thursday, June 2. Central Mountain High School’s Class of 2022 will receive its diplomas beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Malinak Stadium. Sugar Valley Rural Charter School will also hold its graduation on Thursday, June 2.
The Bald Eagle Area School District will be holding its ceremony on Friday, June 3 at Alumni Stadium in Wingate.
Bellefonte Area High School will hold its celebration of the Class of 2022 at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 9 at Rogers Stadium. It will be just the second-ever graduation held at the recently renovated stadium. The Class of 2021 was the first graduating class to have its ceremony there.
