LOCK HAVEN — The 7th Annual LH JAMS Music and Art Festival couldn’t have asked for better weather on Saturday during the last day of the event.

Five bands played back-to-back in the warm, sunny weather, entertaining the crowd all day and into the night.

Eric Ian Farmer and Ady Martinez featuring Bob Hart and Elizabeth Webb combined storytelling with soul, rhythm and blues influences kicked off the live music at noon.

They were followed by La Cuchina who are known for their playing styles of Carlos Santana, Grover Washington Jr., and other great jazz, funk and Latin artists.

Mulebone brought a unique combination of blues and jazz in the afternoon.

Following that performance were The Edgar Citron Band who played with a contemporary and smooth jazz style.

LH JAMS had fine artists demonstrating their skills all day through the street.

Susan Nicholas Gephart and Karl Eric Leitzel provided live Plein Air painting during the day. Local artist Tommy Grieco showcased his artistic talents live under his tent while working on a painting.

“Steve Getz and Carol Cillo put on a great event for a beautiful weekend. For me this is an excellent experience because it not only brings people together, but there’s good food and music. It brings together a whole culture of this town that you normally don’t get to experience,” said Grieco.

Additional vendors were selling their artwork, artisan foods and local non-profits had booths as well.

The vendors did not disappoint with everything from furniture, hand made jewelry, mixed media jewelry, caricatures, and organic handmade healing products.

“In my opinion, The LH JAMS is the best event of the year Lock Haven holds. There so many reasons why. The music is phenomenal. All your friends are here and lots of people from out of town that you’ve never seen before. They are completely enamored with Lock Haven,” said Sue Morris of Sue’s Salves. The business provides a unique blend of organic herbalism with her products.

Stephanie Distler brought a beautiful display of mixed media, fiber art and metal art jewelry with everything from necklaces to bracelets and rings.

“I came for the first one and came back in 2018. I’m really enjoying seeing how everything has grown. I’m a professional level juried member of The Wilds Cooperative of Pa. I work with Steve Getz and Carol Cillo with The Wilds Cooperative of Pa. and they asked me to come to the event as a vendor,” said Distler.

KC Kettle Corn provided their popular kettle corn made by local residents Mike and Debby Snow.

LAURA JAMESON/THE EXPRESS LH JAMS was an event for all ages, as shown by this group of teenagers in attendance.

“We’ve been to every LH JAMS, but one. It’s a great crowd and great entertainment. It’s great to see everybody here. It’s a real relaxed atmosphere,” Debby said.

Oregon Hill Winery and Straub Brewery, the official brewer of LH JAMS, had stands providing beer and wine. The downtown restaurants were open and even the shops on Main Street. The local Elks provided a beer and food stand. They also provided tables in front of their building for people to sit and listen to music especially at the end of the night. Especially when the last band played.

Coast to Coast, an Earth, Wind, and Fire tribute band out of Philadelphia brought down the house to end LH JAMS on Saturday night.

The band hit the stage wearing the Egyptian-style costumes that emulate the look of “Earth, Wind, and Fire” while they performed their music and dance steps at an incredibly energetic high-level.

The band brought a tight and “big” horn section, and a rhythm section that lays down the smooth, funk and soul of Earth, Wind, and Fire’s eclectic music.

They played a variety of songs such as “Reasons,” “Fantasy,” and “That’s the Way of the World.”

The lead singer addressed the crowd right before singing, “That’s the Way of the World.” He spoke about all the hate and violence going on in today’s world.

He told the crowd we need to come together not only as brothers and sisters, but also as people to unite and work together. He asked everyone to stand up and wave along to the song if the crowd was all for uniting and coming together.

Just about everyone in the large crowd got up out of their seats and stood in unity waving their hands in the air.

The band brought so much energy, charisma, and soul to the stage. By the second half of the show, Coast to Coast had everyone out of their seats dancing with some of the more popular songs such as “September” and “Boogie Wonderland” to end the night.
