Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Criminal Justice Club hosts first trunk-or-treat event
LOCK HAVEN — The Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Criminal Justice Club recently held its inaugural law enforcement-themed trunk-or-treat event for the community on Oct. 26 in the East Campus Science Center parking lot.
The event featured police officers from the Woodward Township Police Department, Pine Creek Township Police Department and CU-Lock Haven University Police, offering attendees a unique opportunity to meet the officers and explore their cruisers up close, while collecting candy from creatively decorated trunks, painting pumpkins and bobbing for apples.
“This was our first time ever hosting an event like this, and we are thrilled with the excellent turnout,” said Ashton Peters, club president.
Attendees were also encouraged to bring canned goods as an entry donation, to benefit the Haven Cupboard, the university’s food pantry for students.
The Criminal Justice Club members and helpers for the event included Peters, of Lock Haven; Jaime Daggett, of Bellport, N.Y.; Aarilin Pitre, of Bellport, N.Y.; Avery Arthofer, of Northampton; and Abby Gilson, of Smithville; alumna Tiffany Brungart and her sister Aria Bryan; club advisors, Dr. Edward Bowman and Dr. Michael McSkimming and officers Greg Drollinger, Tyler Fields, Thayne Muthler and Dave Winkleman.
