County sets salaries for three elected positions

LOCK HAVEN — During a special evening voting session, the Clinton County Board of Commissioners approved the salaries of three positions for 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029.

During its meeting, which last just under 10 minutes, the board approved the following salaries for the Treasurer, Tax Claim Bureau Director and Coroner:

— Treasurer: $59,781.25 in 2026; $61,275.78 in 2027; $62,501.30 in 2028; $63,751.32 in 2029.

— Tax Claim Bureau Director: $8,988.00 in 2026; $9,212.70 in 2027; $9,396.95 in 2028; $9,584.89 in 2029.

— Coroner: $59,133.05 in 2026; $60,611.38 in 2027; $61,823.61 in 2028; $63,060.08 in 2029.

In other personnel related business the board approved the following:

— Accepted the resignation for Kelly Strange, deputy sheriff, effective Jan. 31.

— Accepted the resignation for Christopher Logue, 911 dispatcher, effective Feb. 13.

— Accepted the resignation for Elizabeth Cingle, magisterial district court clerk for 25-3-01, effective Feb. 14.

— Hired Leslie Mayes as Clerk 1 at magisterial district court 25-3-02, effective Jan. 27 at a salary of $28,233 annually.

— Hired Nicholas Kosierowski as full-time deputy sheriff, effective Feb. 3 at a salary of $36,841 annually.

In other business the board:

— Heard from Commissioner Angela Harding regarding the now-rescinded order through the Trump Administration to freeze the distribution of grants and loans nationwide. Harding said the commissioners’ office received multiple calls from various organizations, nonprofits and others who utilize federal funds. She said the board reached out to elected officials on a state and federal level to express the importance of these funds for the community.

— Appointed Barbara Masorti to the Clinton County Revolving Loan Board for a one-year term, expiring Dec. 31, 2025.

— Approved an agreement between the county and Geisinger Clinic for a medical director at the Clinton County Department of Emergency Services at a cost of $4,500.

— Approved a resolution authorizing the application for funds from the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Home Grant for $400,000, including a county match of $50,000 from affordable housing fees.
