Owens to run for Bald Eagle Twp. supervisor

Tim Owens
MILL HALL — Tim Owens, of Bald Eagle Township, has announced his candidacy for Bald Eagle Township supervisor.
Owens, a lifetime resident of Bald Eagle township, holds a B.S. in Agricultural Systems Management from Penn State University. He has experience in business and public service. He started his post college career working at the Clinton County Conservation District (CCCD) with water quality improvement projects. He has spent time applying for, administering and doing quality assurance for projects funded through different Federal and State Grant programs.
Owens furthered his career after the CCCD, in the private sector working remotely for Team Ag, an Engineering and Consulting firm from Lancaster County, but working throughout Pennsylvania doing permit applications and quality assurance for a multitude of agricultural operations anywhere from livestock to food processing.
Working as a self-employed farmer for the last 14 years, he has gained a sincere appreciation for the ups and downs of markets and the required resilience to manage through those times to maintain solvency.
Government seldom recognizes that a continuous upward trend in revenue is an unrealistic expectation. Maintaining reserves and operating within budgets, recognizing that real estate tax revenue may climb as new buildings are built, but revenue from mercantile tax, etc. may not always be increasing — and could perhaps even decline year over year depending on the economy.
On the topic of government spending Owens is committed to following rules set forth by the legislature for spending tax dollars, whether that be bidding a road project or buying a piece of equipment. He offers his life experience of expecting the unexpected to steward the township resources to continue to keep Bald Eagle Township a place that encourages individual entrepreneurialism, tourism, commerce, industry and private lands while maintaining quality roads and affordable taxes to the residents, businesses and visitors of the township.
Owens is dedicated to serving the Bald Eagle Township community with Accountable Stewardship in the role of supervisor.
