MACKEYVILLE — Three local young ladies are looking to earn the title of 2025 Clinton County Fair Queen.

2024 Fair Queen Elizabeth Walker is preparing to place the crown on one lucky girl’s head at the start of this year’s fair, held at the fairgrounds in Mackeyville beginning July 26.

“Our 2024 Clinton County Fair Queen is preparing to hand off her crown on July 26. She has served Clinton County well, visiting all local elementary schools, advocating for agriculture at the state capital, serving at Firemen’s events and assisting at countless community events,” a release from the Clinton County Fair Queen Committee said.

The committee notes Walker frequently asks, “What can I do to help?” when she attends local events, demonstrating to young ladies that being a queen is more than a glitzy crown.

“I don’t know if I could pick a favorite event from my reign,” relates Elizabeth. “But the Beech Creek Santa Jump and Glow Night at the Dotterer Grown Sunflower Maze are definitely at the top of my list!”

The committee brings in three highly qualified judges from outside Clinton County to judge the competition. The judges make their selection based on personal interview, evening gown competition, speech presentation, written essay and an impromptu question response.

This year’s contestants are:

— Benelli Reynolds, daughter of Thomas Reynolds and Jennifer Ridler.

— Sarah Lavallee, daughter of Nicole and Robert Lavallee.

— Madalynn Bryant, daughter of Michelle and Tom Piper.

The Clinton County Fair Queen serves as the fair’s representative both in Clinton County and across the Commonwealth.

“We are proud to witness our queen growing professionally and developing superb public relations skills. Specifically, our program models community involvement, service and professionalism,” the committee said. “Our contestants are not required to be members of 4-H or FFA. It’s far more important that our contestants should demonstrate their knowledge of agriculture and our Fair.”

The young lady who is crowned will go on to represent the fair at the PA Fair Queen competition in January 2026.

“We cordially invite the public to join us at the Main Stage at the Clinton County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 26, at 3:30 p.m., to cheer on our contestants,” the release said.

In addition to witnessing these excellent young ladies vying for the crown, the contest also includes a short auction of various local items, benefitting this outstanding program.

“It’s a great way to support the Clinton County Fair Queen program, ensuring its presence in our community for years to come,” the release said.
