Assistant super submits resignation; KC Board to consider this, other personnel items at voting session

MILL HALL — The Keystone Central School District Board of Directors will consider the resignation of Assistant Superintendent Dr. Randy Zangara at its voting session this Thursday.

Zangara’s resignation was included in the board’s monthly list of personnel action items during its organization meeting/work session on Dec. 4.

If approved, Zangara’s final day would be Jan. 31, 2026.

Zangara was named to the position by the board in October 2023, by then-Superintendent Dr. Jacqueline Martin.

Prior to coming to KCSD, Zangara was the executive director of Career and Technical Education Partnerships at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Superintendent Dr. Francis Redmon told The Express the district does not intend to immediately search to fill the position, as it looks into ways to conduct a staffing study to better fit its needs.

“The district is looking into methodologies and pathways to assess staffing needs across all district functions. That assessment will take some time and will include central office staffing as well as other staffing areas,” Redmon said.

During Thursday’s work session, the board discussed a potential agreement for the staffing assessment with Devopar Consulting. The board ultimately directed Redmon to request Devopar present information about its services to the board at a future meeting.

Board members did not offer comment regarding Zangara’s resignation at its work session.

Zangara’s resignation will be among the following personnel items the board will consider this week:
