Fly fishing day for military families and cancer survivors

BENTON — The PA Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is teaming up with local partners to hold a Fly Fishing event for cancer survivors and military families on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m at Boy Scouts of America, Camp Lavigne, 35 Camp Lavigne Rd., Benton, Pa. 17814.

All equipment, flies, instruction and door prizes will be provided at no cost and participants do not need a fishing license to fish during the event!

The event will not only provide participants with the opportunity to try fly casting, fly fishing, fly tying, knot tying, aquatic insect and artificial fly identification, but will also provide participants with the chance to connect with others who have similar interests.

A free lunch will also be provided for registered participants.
