WOOLRICH — Ashton Peters from Woolrich Troop 66B, chartered through the Woolrich Community United Methodist Church, achieved the rank of Eagle on Oct. 8.

Ashton’ s Eagle Project was a walk for suicide awareness.

His project was named “The Cimarron Thomas Memorial Walk for Suicide Awareness.” His goal was to bring awareness to the increasing rate of suicide. The project was a special memorial to a best friend he lost to suicide.

Ashton’s desire to be a scout began when he discovered his father’s uniform when he was a cub scout. Ashton put the uniform on and was hooked. He joined Pack 66 and began as a wolf.

He has earned 36 merit badges, one bronze palm, one silver palm, and one gold palm. Ashton plans to continue with scouts.

His official celebration Court of Honor will be held at a later date.
