LOCK HAVEN — The Penn State Master Gardeners of Clinton County have scheduled their Holiday Greens Workshop and Sale for Dec. 7.

This annual event features plenty of holiday greens and all the trimmings, hands-on workshops, and a selection of holiday decorations, gifts, and fresh arrangements made by Master Gardeners.

Orders are being taken for fresh, local greens such as fir, pine, and boxwood, as well as birch and winterberry branches with bright red berries. In conjunction with the sale, there will be workshops on making centerpieces, swags, and grapevine wreaths.

Workshops are offered free-of-charge to those who purchase materials through the Holiday Greens Sale. Workshop registration is required.

Holiday decorations workshops with an emphasis on using materials found in nature will be taught by Master Gardeners Debra Burrows, Candy Gore, and Deborah Liguori.

Creating Holiday Centerpieces will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by Creating Holiday Swags & Grapevine Wreaths from noon until 1:30 p.m.

Workshop participants will learn to identify and select various types of local plant materials that can be used for holiday decorations. Instructors will demonstrate techniques for creating centerpieces, swags, and grapevine wreaths and will assist participants in making their own.

Those participating in the Centerpieces workshop are encouraged to bring their own containers. A limited supply of containers will be available for purchase on the day of the sale.

Additional supplies, including floral netting and foam, wire, tape, ribbon, greens, pinecones, etc. will be available for purchase at the workshops. Registrations are being accepted on a first-come-first-served basis and each workshop is limited to 16 participants, so those interested are encouraged to register early.

Workshop registration information and order forms are available at https://extension.psu.edu/holiday-greens-sale-and-workshop-in-clinton-county or by calling the Penn State Extension Office in Clinton County at 570-726-0022. Holiday greens orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. The Master Gardeners recommend submitting orders as early as possible.

Orders can be picked up at the Master Gardener Holiday Greens Workshop and Sale on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Penn State Extension Office, 232 E. Main St., Lock Haven.
