Hike the Lake Shore Trail

LITTLE PINE — On Friday, Sept. 3, at 2:30 p.m., join the naturalist at Little Pine State Park to “Hike the Lake Shore Trail.” There will be a discussion about the flora and fauna seen along the trail as well as the history of the area. There will also be a look into trail information and etiquette. Please wear hiking boots. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new CDC Guidelines. Meet at the beginning of Lake Shore Trail (top of dam).

Terrific Trees

LITTLE PINE — On Saturday, Sept. 4, at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., there will be a “Terrific Trees” program at Little Pine State Park. Join the park naturalist to take a look and tell the difference between some of the different tree species in the Lower Picnic Area of Little Pine State Park. There will be a craft at the end. This program will be suited towards families with children, but anyone is welcome to attend. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new CDC Guidelines. Meet at Pavilion #4 (Lower Picnic Area).

Flight of the Bats

LITTLE PINE — On Saturday, Sept. 4, at 7:15 p.m., there will be a “Flight of the Bats” program at Little Pine State Park. This program will focus on topics such as bats’ adaptations, different kinds of bats, some myths about them, and learning about something that is threatening their population. There will also be a craft. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new CDC Guidelines. Meet at the bat box by the amphitheater.

Terrific Trees

HYNER — On Sunday, Sept. 5, at 3 p.m., there will be a “Terrific Trees” program at Hyner Run State Park. Join the park naturalist to take a look and tell the difference between some of the different tree species in Hyner Run State Park. There will be a craft at the end. This program will be suited towards families with children, but anyone is welcome to attend. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. There will be a discussion about the flora and fauna seen along the trail as well as the history of the area. There will also be a look into trail information and etiquette. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new CDC Guidelines. Meet at the amphitheater.
