MH teen flown by LifeFlight after accident

MILL HALL – An unnamed 17-year-old from Mill Hall was flown by LifeFlight to Geisinger after his vehicle struck a tree yesterday at about 9:45 a.m., according to a report from state police at Lamar.

The driver was headed north in his 2002 Honda Civic on Keystone Central Drive at a high rate of speed and attempted a right-hand curve just south of Orner Road. The driver lost control of his vehicle, which began to slide to the left while exiting the curve, sliding into the oncoming lane, according to the police report.

He then tried to steer back into his lane and oversteered, causing his vehicle to change directions, eventually leaving the roadway to strike a tree on the passenger side, according to the report. The vehicle came to a stop over an embankment.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle and flown by LifeFlight to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, according to the report.

No further information was available at press time.
