Theft from vehicle

WHITE DEER – A 23-year-old was arrested for theft from a Jersey Shore man’s vehicle Friday, Tpr. Scott A. Carl of state police at Milton said.

Police said Charles Ephraim McKnight Jr. was taken into custody by the victim and others after he was observed breaking the window of Richard Dvorshack’s car and stealing a purse from the front seat.

Runaway found

JERSEY SHORE – The Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police Department said Emily Darby, reported missing from her residence in Piatt Township on Saturday, has been found.

Darby was entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing juvenile after it was reported she traveled out of state to meet with an individual she may have met online.

She was located unharmed by authorities in Georgia.

Cabin burglary

RENOVO – A cabin was broken into between April 10 and May 28 along the Post Hollow Road in Chapman Township, state police at Lamar said.

Police said George McAlanis, 65, of Millersburg reported the crime. Police said several items, including firearms and ammunition, were stolen.

Retail theft

MILL HALL – Dustin Young, 24, of Mill Hall, was arrested for retail theft Friday at the WalMart Super Center in Bald Eagle Township, Tpr. Timothy Eiler of the state police at Lamar said.

Police said Young took seven items and placed them in a bag, then purchased the bag and other items, but failed to pay for the items he had placed in the bag.
