Compound bow sparks arrest

HOWARD — Gary Lynn Rupert, 19, of Howard was arrested for the alleged aggravated assault on law enforcement authorities Tuesday evening.

Cpl. Tom Granville of the state police at Rockview said troopers were responding to Split Pine Lane in Walker Township but were told Rupert had locked himself inside the home and wouldn’t let anybody enter.

An officer who entered the room in question saw Rupert holding a compound bow with a knocked arrow in the firing position.

The troopers deployed a Taser and Rupert was restrained without further incident.

Harassment citations

MILL HALL — Timothy Nyman, 57, of Mill Hall and Tammy Puzak, 47, of Avis, were both cited for harassment Tuesday, state police at Rockview said.

Police said both individuals said the other one struck them.
