Police: Man found with drugs, firearms on I-80

SNOW SHOE — According to Pennsylvania State Police at Rockview, Caesar Virgil Smith, Jr., 31, of Mississippi, was stopped for speeding on Monday, May 29, at 4:10 p.m. on I-80 eastbound mile marker 141.6, in Show Shoe Township.

The odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle, and upon probable cause search, 25 grams of marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine, several drug peraphernalia items, a 1911 BB gun, and a Colt MK-IV .45 automatic pistol were found, police said.

Smith does not possess a concealed carry permit for the pistol, and was charged with firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to state police, and has been jailed on $25,000 bail at the Centre County Correctional Facility.

Alleged theft of cash

DUNNSTOWN — A 29-year-old man accidentally left his wallet at the Pizza House, 120 Woodward Ave., after purchasing food on Sunday, May 28, at around 1 p.m., Woodward Township police said. After returning to the store, the man discovered that an unknown female had turned the wallet over to the staff and had left the store, but when the man checked his wallet, all of the cash in it was missing, police allege. The investigation continues.
