Tree falls, residents lose power

WATERVILLE — A fallen tree in the 8000 block of Route 44 caused a power outage in much of the area on Tuesday night. The incident occurred when the tree blew over and took some power lines down, according to emergency responders.

A vehicle struck the downed tree and volunteer firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 6:30 p.m.

First Energy Corp., which services the area’s electric needs, sent a crew to the scene to make repairs Tuesday night.

State police at Montoursville were on the scene, investigating the crash. They believed that no one was seriously injured.
