Philadelphia couple face drug charges

BELLEFONTE — A man and woman from Philadelphia were stopped for speeding on Interstate 99 in Centre County and an investigation of their vehicle found drugs and a pistol, according to state police at Rockview.

Police said the couple, who were not identified on the police press release, were stopped at 2:08 a.m. on Aug. 10, traveling at 107 miles per hour in a posted 70 miles per hour zone.

Upon further investigation and search of the vehicle police found they were in possession of four cartridges of THC oil, six grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 56 grams of suspected marijuana, 50 Alprazolam (Xanax) pills without a prescription and a stolen Taurus .40 caliber pistol.

Charges were filed through Centre County Magisterial District Court 49-3-05.
