Bellefonte man killed in crash Wednesday

STATE COLLEGE — Robert Bloom, 47, of Bellefonte, was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Route 322, between the College Avenue and Elmwood Street overpasses, according to State College police.

Bloom was the driver of a vehicle that was struck by a car operated by an unnamed female driver from Willilamsport, who lost control of her car while westbound on 322 and crossed the highway colliding head-on with Bloom’s car.

Bloom was pronounced dead at the scene.

His 15-year-old son was a passenger in the car and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, police said.

The other driver suffered minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital.
