Fugitive found in Centre County

BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview located and apprehended a wanted New York City fugitive on Feb. 1.

NYPD Fugitive Task Force notified police that Desmond Rhodes, 31, of Middle Village, N.Y., was last seen at 134 Sports Camp Drive, Haines Township, police said.

Troopers found Rhodes and transported him to the Centre County Correctional Facility where he awaits extradition to New York, police said.

Drugs, stolen firearm in vehicle

WILLIAMSPORT — Christopher McCann, 49, of Jersey Shore, is facing multiple charges in relation to drugs and a stolen firearm found in his 2005 Ford Escape during a traffic stop along Route 15, Old Lycoming Township on Jan. 25, state police at Montoursville said.

Police found multiple items of heroin paraphernalia, marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and a stolen firearm in McCann’s vehicle, police said.

McCann was also found to be driving under the influence and was arrested for DUI, police said.

McCann was charged with felony firearm violations, misdemeanour DUI, drug possession and paraphernalia and traffic violations, police said.

McCann’s passenger, Adam McEwen, 36, of Williamsport, was charged with misdemeanour drug paraphernalia possession, police said.

Over $1,000 of items stolen

BELLEFONTE — A 24-year-old Bellefonte woman was the victim of an over $1,000 theft from her storage locker along Pleasantview Boulevard, Boggs Township, Centre County, state police at Rockview said.

The suspects broke into the locker at Midway Storage between Jan. 1 and Feb. 4 and stole multiple items including two TVs, a wood finish six drawer dresser, a queen, full and twin size mattresses, baby clothes, a Fisher Price baby rocking chair and baby bouncer, police said.

The items are estimated to be worth $1,915, police said.

Harassment alleged

PENNS VALLEY — State police at Rockview reported a juvenile disturbance that occurred between a 16-year-old Spring Mills girl and 25-year-old Coudersport man on Feb. 4.

The teenager allegedly harassed the Coudersport man, police said.

Drug possession

BELLEFONTE — Connor Roose, 18, of Everett, Pa., was found in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia during a traffic stop along Interstate 99, Benner Township on Feb. 10, state police at Rockview said. Roose was also found to be driving under the influence.

Marijuana possession

MILESBURG — Richard Rash, 59, of Snow Shoe, was found in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia following a traffic stop at the intersection of Mill and Eagle streets, Milesburg on Feb. 12, state police at Rockview said.

DUI alleged

BELLEFONTE — A known male may be charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance in Boggs Township on Feb. 12, state police at Rockview said.

Charges are pending a further investigation by Trooper Matthew Barnyak, police said.
