JS man charged with assault

JERSEY SHORE — A Jersey Shore man was arrested by Tiadaghton Valley Regional police on several charges, including assault and furnishing alcohol to minors.

Police say that Kyle Keller, 26, of 208 Marion St., was charged with simple assault, harassment and furnishing alcohol to two minors identified as Breanna Burkholder, 18, and a 17-year-old female on Jan. 25.

Police allege that Keller assaulted the two and at one point he “grabbed a frying pan and told everyone to get back or he would kill them.” Police also charged his girlfriend, Keirstein Dailey, 22, of the same address, and who was present, with furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Keller was initially jailed, but is now free on $5,000 bail while Dailey was sent a summons to appear before a district judge.

Fuel stolen

CENTRE HALL — State police at Rockview investigated a theft of fuel that occurred at approximately 4 a.m. on Feb. 8 along General Potter Highway in Potter Township, Centre County.

According to police, someone drove a full-size Dodge pickup truck onto property owned by Bestline Power Sports and stole 100 gallons of fuel from the business.

The fuel was valued at $275, police said.

Gift card scam

HALMOON TOWNSHIP — A scam involving an Amazon account was investigated by state police at Rockview.

According to police, a Centre County resident was contacted via telephone about her Amazon account. The woman was told that her account was compromised and that she had to send them money over the phone via eBay gift cards. The victim purchased and transferred $1,300 of gift cards over the phone, police said.

The investigation continues.

Burglary investigated

MILESBURG — At 6:45 a.m. on Feb. 14, state police at Rockview investigated a burglary in Milesburg Borough.

Police said that someone gained entry to a business located along Kifer Road in Milesburg Borough and stole $840 in U.S. currency.

Bad checks

MILLHEIM — A Spring Mills woman was arrested for writing a bad check at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 20.

According to state police at Rockview, Jamie Baer, 36, of Spring Mills, wrote a check for $41.19 at the Hosterman and Stover General Store in Millheim Borough.

Man charged with DUI

SALLADASBURG — State police from Montoursville have charged Kenneth Hensler, 73, with DUI of a controlled substance (serataline), driving without a license and careless driving on state Route 44 in Nippenose Township. Hensler was sent a summons to appear before a district judge.

The incident took place on Dec. 23.

JS woman charged with shoplifting

JERSEY SHORE — A Jersey Shore woman was charged with shoplifting after allegedly taking merchandise from Dollar General, 7520 state Route 220 in Woodward Township.

Betty Jo Rinker, 43, of Jersey Shore was charged for allegedly taking $48 worth of merchandise, according to police.

The incident took place on Oct. 29. Rinker was released on $1,500 bail.
