Serious injuries in DUI crash

BELLEFONTE — Two passengers were transported to area hospitals for suspected serious injuries following a DUI related crash along West College Avenue in Benner Township on July 9, state police at Rockview said.

At 2:41 p.m., Kraig M. McKee, 39, of McClure, Pa., was traveling north on the roadway when he crossed traffic and began driving adjacent to the southbound lane along the embankment, police said.

McKee continued traveling along the bottom of the embankment and striking several objects including a wooden post, several trees and a concrete culvert, police said.

The 2014 Toyota Camry came to rest after striking a tree, police said.

McKee was evaluated on scene and it was determined he was driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.

McKee’s passengers Devan M. Weaver, 32, and Shana M. McClellan, 42, both of McClure, Pa., were transported Mt. Nittany Medical Center and UPMC Altoona for their injuries, police said.

McKee was charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.

Both passengers who were in possession of paraphernalia were each charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Unauthorized purchase

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar are investigating a instance of access device fraud after a 45-year-old Mill Hall man’s Sam’s Club account was used to purchase an iPad on July 9.

PFA violation

FLEMINGTON — A 19-year-old Lock Haven man was arrested and charged with violating a protection from abuse order following an incident along Bressler Street on July 11, state police at Lamar said.

Soda thrown in faces

NORTH BEND — Gary Bliss, 53, of North Bend, was cited for harassment following an incident that occurred on July 12 along Hyner Run Road, Chapman Township, state police at Lamar said.

Bliss allegedly threw a soda in the faces of a 37-year-old North Bend woman and 68-year-old North Bend man, police said.

One vehicle accident

RENOVO — A 21-year-old Rochester, N.Y. man was not injured after crashing his 2007 Kawasaki Ninja at the intersection of Tamarack and Sandy Run roads, Leidy Township, state police at Lamar said.

Bryan T. Kong was traveling south on Tamarack Road when he went too fast around a right curve causing him to cross the intersection and strike a guide rail, police said.

Kong was issued a citation for not driving a vehicle at safe speed, police said.

Drug possession

BELLEFONTE — Christian Confer, 25, of Jersey Shore, was arrested on multiple warrants near the intersection of East College Avenue and Nittany Valley Drive, Walker Township on July 11, state police at Rockview said.

Confer was in possession of methamphetamine and related paraphernalia at the time of the arrest, police said.

Charges will be filed through district court, police said.

One vehicle accident

HOWARD — A 20-year-old Jersey Shore man was not injured following after a one vehicle crash along Interstate 80 in Marion Township on July 10, state police at Rockview said.

Dylan L. Leitch was traveling west on the roadway at 4:48 p.m. when he started to travel off the roadway, police said.

Leitch attempt to correct this action but struck a guide rail with his 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, police said.

No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene by Rich’s Amoco, police said.

Leitch was issued a citation for not driving on roadways laned for traffic, police said.

Fence damaged

MILESBURG — State police at Rockview are investigating an incident of criminal mischief that occurred between June 26 and July 2 in Boggs Township.

A 25×12 foot chain link fence that surrounded a building belonging to Hilex Poly at 606 Idding St. suffered $5,000 worth of damage, police said.

DUI alleged

BELLEFONTE — A 55-year-old Bellefonte man was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop near the intersection of Zion Road and Buckaroo Lane, Spring Township on July 5, state police at Rockview said.

The stop was conducted at about 3:34 p.m. due to the driver, name no listed, having an arrest warrant, police said.
