Death ruled accidental
BELLEFONTE — Centre County coroner Scott Sayers has ruled the death of Stephanie Wilson accidental.
Wilson was the pedestrian struck by a pickup truck on Wednesday morning in the 100 block of West High Street in Bellefonte Borough. Sayers said that Wilson died as a result of head trauma.
Assault with a weapon
MILESBURG — A case of assault with a weapon was investigated by State Police at Rockview that took place at 10:23 a.m. on July 23.
The incident took place along Turnpike Street in Milesburg Borough, Centre County. According to police, a 48-year-old Milesburg man was struck in the head with a baseball bat by Curtis Witherite, 21, of Fleming. Police say that the man who was struck in the head was Witherite’s father. The incident occurred during an argument at the residence.
The victim received several lacerations to the head. EMS assisted PSP at the scene. Assault and harassment charges are pending, police say.
SNOW SHOE — A case of harassment was investigated by state police at Rockview at 2:43 p.m. on July 24.
According to police, a 65-year-old Snow Shoe man walked onto a private residence along West Olive Street, threatened to strike a 76-year-old man in the face if he lit the contents of a burn barrel located on the property. When the man lit the contents, the other man became enraged and toppled it, spilling its contents around the area. A citation was issued for harassment against the 65-year-old man.
The burn barrel was not damaged in the incident. The investigation continues.
