Crash victim identified
BELLEFONTE — The Centre County Coroner’s Office recently identified the man who died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Spring Township.
According to Deputy Coroner Debra A. Smeal, the man killed was Jason Carroll, 42, of Walker Township. According to the report, Carroll died of blunt force trauma after he went over an embankment and crashed into a field on the 2000 block of Zion Road. Carroll was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, Smeal said on Sunday.
Carroll’s death was ruled accidental.
According to a Spring Township Police report, officers were on patrol when they discovered the vehicle and alerted fire and EMS. They then found Carroll, who was pronounced dead at about 2 a.m.
The report said that police searched the area — including use of a drone — for any other passengers, but found none.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing and toxicology results are pending.
SALLADASBURG — A 15-year-old Salladasburg boy was cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness following a search along Tebbs Road, Clinton Township, State Police at Montoursville said.
The boy was reported missing in the area of 448 Tebbs Road on Aug. 2 at 3:13 p.m. Due to the proximity of a nearby river, water rescue was called to the scene to assist in the search, police said.
The teenager was found later, highly intoxicated and asleep under a camper, police said.
REBERSBURG — The driver of a 2015 Harley-Davidson Street Glide suffered suspected serious injuries following a crash along Brush Valley Road, Miles Township on July 18, State Police at Rockview said.
At 3:26 p.m., Dustin A. Holt, 34, of Spring Mills, was traveling west on the road when his motorcycle drifted off the north side, police said.
Holt over corrected the vehicle back onto the roadway and losing control, beginning to slide along the right side of the vehicle before overturning multiple times, police said.
Holt was transported to Geisinger Medical Center by Mifflinburg Community Ambulance for his injuries, police said.
Possession of controlled
HOWARD — Eric Heverly, 43, of Howard, was found in possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop along Port Matilda Highway, Rush Township on July 19, State Police at Rockview said.
BELLEFONTE — State Police at Rockview are investigating a possible DUI incident that occurred near 820 S. Eagle Valley Road, Boggs Township on July 21 at 11:06 p.m.
CENTRE HALL — State Police at Rockview are investigating an alleged indecent assault that occurred on The Meadows Drive, Potter Township between July 6 and 22.
SPRING MILLS — A 33-year-old Lock Haven woman was accused of stealing 12 quart and 2 quart metal buckets, valued at $11.78, from Weaver’s Store in Spring Mills on July 18, State Police at Rockview said.
BELLEFONTE — A 49-year-old Bellefonte man was found in possession of drugs at the intersection of North Allegheny and East High street in Bellefonte on July 20, State Police at Rockview said.
LINDEN — A 45-year-old Linden woman was the victim of a theft through an online banking application between June 1 and 9 in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, State Police at Montoursville said.
BLANCHARD — A domestic incident in Liberty Township lead to possible drug possession charges on Aug. 2, state police at Rockview said.
Police responded to a home along Liberty Street at 2:26 a.m. where a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia was observed inside the residence of Shirley Girton, 57, and Michael Girton, 59, both of Blanchard, police said.
Possession of drugs
BELLEFONTE — Marijuana, THC wax and related paraphernalia was seized from a 21-year-old Spring Mills man during an encounter at the intersection of Buffalo Run Road and Maple Drive on Aug. 2, state police at Rockview said.
SPRING MILLS — A driver and their passenger suffered suspected minor injuries following a one vehicle crash along Boal Gap Road, Potter Township, state police at Rockview said.
Stacy A. Querry, 33, of Altoona, was traveling north on the roadway on Aug. 3 when her 2011 Chevrolet Equinox traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment, police said.
The vehicle spun before overturning and rolling once, police said.
Neither Querry or her passenger Scott D. Laughlin, 38, of Altoona, were transported for their injuries, police said.
Car trouble leads to crash
BELLEFONTE — A 17-year-old Bellefonte boy was not injured following a crash along East College Avenue, Walker Township on Aug. 3, state police at Rockview said.
The teenager was traveling south on the road when the front driver’s side steering failed, causing the driver to strike a road sign and then a tree, police said.
Police were assisted on scene by the Walker Township Fire Department and Rich’s Amoco Towing.
