JERSEY SHORE — State police at Montoursville were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place around 10:55 a.m. on Dec. 23.
According to police, a 2016 Subaru Forester being driven by Francis G. Hoffman, 70, of Jersey Shore was traveling East in the 20 block of Middle Road when she failed to negotiate a left-hand turn in the roadway. The vehicle went off the southbound shoulder, struck a snow bank and went airborne. It traveled northeast for another 60 feet, struck another snowbank, continued through a yard and struck a large tree. However, the vehicle then traveled northeast for another 180 feet until the driver’s side struck a utility pole, causing it to snap. The vehicle then continued in a northeasterly direction for 9 feet, when it struck a speed limit sign. It continued for approximately 20 feet in the southbound lane of state Route 44, where it came to rest.
Hoffman was not hurt in the accident. State police were assisted at the scene by the Nippenose Valley Fire Department and PPL Electric. The Forester was towed from the scene by Showcase.
LINDEN — State police at Montoursville investigated a case of harassment that took place along Quenshuckney Road in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, on Dec. 29.
According to police, a 48-year-old Montoursville man was given a non-traffic citation for harassing a 55-year-old Jersey Shore woman. The man was cited through District Court 29-3-02.
