Theft by deception

LOGANTON — A case of theft by deception is being investigated by state police at Lamar.

According to police, someone used the information of a 59-year-old Loganton woman to apply for unemployment compensation on July 10. The investigation is ongoing.

The incident was reported around 7 a.m.

Driving under the influence

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar were called to investigate an unresponsive male on July 11.

According to police, they were called to the intersection of South Chestnut Street and Church Street in Mill Hall Borough. There, they found Jesse Overgord, 27, of Mill Hall unresponsive in his 2004 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. Following an investigation, the man was taken into custody for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Charges were filed through District Court 25-3-02.

The incident took place at 10:53 p.m.

Public drunkenness

MILL HALL — State police at Lamar investigated a case of public drunkenness on July 12.

According to police, Johnny Watkins, 54, of Caddo, Okla., was intoxicated and being disorderly in a parking lot at 167 Hogan Boulevard. Watkins was taken to the Clinton County Correctional Facility. Charges are being filed through Magisterial District Justice 25-3-02.

Drug possession

BELLEFONTE — A case of drug possession was investigated by state police at Rockview on July 3.

According to police, a traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of old state Route 220 and Pine Meadow Park in Boggs Township, Centre County. A consent search yielded marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver of a 2000 Ford was a 24-year-old Pottersdale man.

The incident took place at 11:54 p.m. Charges are pending through Magisterial District Justice 49-3-02.

Harassment

LINDEN — State police at Montoursville investigated a case of harassment that took place along Lane Street in Woodward Township on June 25.

According to police, they were dispatched to a disturbance involving Melvin Stryker, 50, of Linden and Stephen Ritter, 46, of Linden. Both men were arrested in the 10 p.m. incident, police said.

Driving under the influence

BELLEFONTE — State police at Rockview investigated a case of driving under the influence that took place on June 16.

According to police, a 46-year-old Milesburg man was stopped in his 2004 GMC pickup truck at 10:52 p.m. at the intersection of Penn Tech Drive and Grove Road in Benner Township, Centre County.

The man appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, police said. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
